I feel very fortunate to have the career that I've always wanted. Right from the start, I was given some very fun and exciting opportunities. Unfortunately, as time went by I started developing some health complications as well as becoming extremely sensitive to the products I used at the salon.
I learned very quickly that the products you're exposed to absolutely make a difference to your overall health. After doing lots and lots of research I changed the way I ate, how I took care of my body, how I handled stress, and most importantly how I worked behind the chair. I changed all the hair products, hair color, and work environment which wasn't easy a decade ago when "clean beauty" wasn't so mainstream.
I started off by renting a small space behind a natural bath and body shop to eventually opening my very own holistic hair salon in Florida. That's a picture of me on the left! It became wildly successful. I was able to help women who were cancer survivors, were concerned about hair loss, had hormonal issues, had autoimmune diseases, were allergic to traditional hair color, and so on. I considered it a true blessing that I was able to take an awful situation, turn it around, and now help others along the way.
Two years ago, my husband and I decided to sell the salon and our home and start all over in North Carolina. What an adventure it has been!
We love taking our rescue dog Drew to all the trails, getting to try out new restaurants, taking day trips to wineries, and obviously experiencing the true Fall season.
After taking a break, I am now ready to fully emerge back to being part of the holistic hair tribe and help women in the Raleigh area have better hair options.
I'd love for you to be part of this journey!
